Full Moon Paddle

When: Friday, June 25, 2010 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Where: Odessa Wildlife Complex, Schafer Access
How to register: Online registration or Call 319-523-8381; Required by June 23
Cost: $20/canoe or $15/person for single kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Enjoy Odessa by the light of the moon. This guided kayak and canoe trip on the Odessa Water Trail will be an adventurous paddle winding through the Odessa Wildlife Area. Participants can also camp at the nearby Snively Access Campground, if they choose (regular camping fees apply).

Mothers Day on the Marsh

When: Sunday, May 9, 2010, 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Where: Indian Slough Wildlife Area
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381, required by May 4
Cost:$20/canoe or $15/kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Come see the mothers on the marsh - ducks, geese, blackbirds, swallows and more will all be busy preparing nests for their spring broods. Indian Slough provides a perfect opportunity to get a close look at the birds and other wildlife. Local naturalists will lead this 1 1/2 to 2 hour trip. Put-in and take-out will be from the Main Access. A limited number of canoes and kayaks will be available from the Louisa County Conservation Board - register early to get yours reserved!

Odessa Water Trail paddle

When: Saturday, June 5, 2010, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Where: Odessa Water Trail
How to register: Use online registration form or call 319-523-8381
Cost: $20/canoe or $15/kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Explore the scenic and winding Burris Ditch on Odessa Beginning and ending at Toolesboro. We'll stop along the way for lunch before heading back. This is a great trail for wildlife watching!

Iowa River Float cancelled due to high water!!!

Iowa River Paddle

When: Saturday, September 25, 2010, time TBA
Where: Sturgis Ferry Park, Iowa City, Hills Access, River Junction Access
How to register: Use online registration form (Available August 1) or call 319-523-8381
Cost: $20/canoe or $15/kayak; no fee if you have your own boat (donations to water trail program accepted)
What: Though details are still being worked out, plans are to hold an early morning float from Sturgis Ferry Park in Iowa City to Hills Access (9.5 miles). The ceremony will be late morning (timed so the paddlers can attend, of course). A second paddle will start from Hills Access and go to River Junction Access (9.8 miles).
