Reserve a Park Shelter

Park shelters may be reserved in advance to assure that it will be available for your picnic, party, reunion or other event. A fee of $25 is charged to reserve the shelter.

To reserve a shelter at Chinkapin Bluffs, Virginia Grove or Flaming Prairie:

  1. Contact the conservation board at 319-523-8381 or lccb@lccb.org to see if the date/time you want is available.
  2. Download a reservation form (.pdf 15KB)
  3. Mail the form with your payment of $25 (must be received at least two days prior to your reservation)
  4. Leave the area and shelter clean after you use it

Note: If you will have a keg (or beer or wine in any container larger than one quart), a special use permit is required in addition to the shelter reservation. Ask the conservation board about obtaining a permit.
