Only a small portion of the Mississippi River Islands WMA is in Louisa County. The area spans three Iowa counties (from Muscatine to Des Moines) and river pools 16, 17 & 18. These islands are only accessible by boat.

Hunting: major – waterfowl, deer; minor – turkey
